Milestones!

Well this week Edith had her first food, applesauce. She seemed to really like it. Addie also enjoyed demonstrating to Edith how to eat it too. It has been pretty hectic so we have only given it to her once.

This evening as Edith was settling to go to sleep she rolled over. It was so fun to watch. I caught her doing it and then Brian came to watch. He said she did it again and then fell fast asleep exhausted. Oh, the simple life to be a baby. I am really excited because she hasn't really been trying to roll over so it came as such a surprise.

Another Hike

Addie wanted to take another hike so we geared up and off we went. I was disappointed that the road to the Swamp Monster Trail was closed. So we drove back to the other entrance to Tiger Mountain. During our hike Addie kept wanting to find the tigers. Apparently they were all hiding that day. The most exciting thing we saw was a dog. Addie was a little disturbed by the giant mud pools even though she had her boots on. She wanted me to make sure her boots were cleaned off.

Addie has also been doing lots of Spice Art, an activity I created to use up spices that would be long past their "spicyness" before being used for cooking. Just use a glue stick (blue works best) on construction paper and sprinkle away for a multisensory treat.

Grandma and Grandpa Visit

We had a great visit this weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Butler. Addie was worn out from all the playing. She got to go swimming twice and play with the magic curtains. Edith was very serious about her first swimming adventure. She also loved taking her naps snuggled up to Grandpa.

A Sunny Day... Finally

We finally had a sunny day. No more snow and hail. I took all three girls on the Swamp Monster trail at Tiger Mountain. Addie loved looking at all the water, filling her pockets with rocks, and running on the boardwalk. She didn't like the dogs we passed though and just said "no, no, no" until they were long past out of sight.

Little Edith can now sit up on her own (for 5 seconds). Hurrah. She is also getting ready for her first meal by staring at food and grabbing at plates.
